Should students be allowed to choose their own subjects at school?

Students should be allowed to choose their own subjects after a specific age.

In school, we learn many useless things like reading music notes and arts and crafts, but I don’t really see the purpose in that. So, I think that after entering the second grade lower level, students should be able to focus on the more important subjects for themselves. Moreover, we should have more subjects, out of which you should be able to vote for the ones you don’t want anymore.

Is school preparing teens for real adult life?

School does prepare teens for adult life, but it could do more.

Schools provide essential skills, such as teaching English to communicate with others or Maths for everyday calculations. However, teens should also learn practical life skills, for example, how to buy a home, manage taxes, or budget effectively rather than having to figure these things out on their own. Ultimately, education should teach us not just academically, but for real life challenges too.
